Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit... After his death on the cross and his resurrection, Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize all nations. The Church, has continued to follow this command since its early beginnings.
Before starting his public ministry, Jesus submitted himself to the baptism given by John the Baptist which was a baptism of repentance. He did not need to be baptized because he was totally faithful to the will of his Father and free from sin—he was pure. However, in order to be accepted as the one to reconcile humanity to the Father, he had to become one with them in the waters of the Jordan River. After his death on the cross and his resurrection, he commanded his disciples to baptize all nations in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Through this new baptism, we become one with Christ in the sacrifice he offered once for all for our sins. By becoming the spotless victim, the pure and perfect sacrifice, Jesus reconciled us—bridged the chasm created by sin, between God and humanity. In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ's call to holiness—to remain free from sin and walk by the light of Christ. We are invited to submit our hearts to the Lord with ever deeper love. If you would like your child to be baptized and become a member of God’s family or if you yourself would like to receive the sacrament, we welcome you.
